Beef with dried figs

Beef with dried figs for the new year's Eve holiday and not only. Figs tie and sweeten the sauce with a great tasty result that will enjoy everyone present at the festive table.

Ingredients

  • 750gr. Beef diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • A pinch of allspice
  • ¼ of spoonful of fresh coriander powder
  • salt & pepper
  • ¼ Cup brandy
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • ½ Cup dried figs cut in half
  • 1 ½ - 2 cups beef broth or water

Method

Step 1

Heat the oil in a wide skillet and saute the meat to get nice color from all sides. Turn the pieces of meat with a spoon so that it Browns evenly without grab.

Step 2

Add the onion and continue sautéing 2-3 minutes. Add the tomato paste and stir. Taste with salt and pepper, Sprinkle with Allspice and stir. Deglaze with brandy, Add the cinnamon stick and the coriander.

Step 3

Once alcohol vaporized , pour the broth or water and figs and let it simmer for at least 1 hour. If the meat is not tender add a little water and cook a bit longer.

Step 4

Serve the food hot with accompanying our liking and plenty of sauce with figs.
