Shrimp Arrabbiata on Shrove Monday and throughout the period of fasting. An Italian pasta dish based on tomato sauce , garlic and chili, in a quantity capable of "angry" our pasta. In Italian, arrabbiata means angry indeed, probably very angry, like our dish!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion grated
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • 1 ½ Cup tomato juice
  • A pinch of sugar
  • 1 red pepper very finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried Basil
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder or as we prefer
  • 150gr. Pasta No6 or that pasta we prefer

Method

Step 1

Prepare the pasta according to package instructions and keep aside. We keep a little of the boiled water, for the sauce.

Step 2

Meanwhile heat the oil in a wide frying pan and saute the onion until it's polished and immediately pour garlic.

Step 3

Add the peppers, tomato juice. Season and sprinkle with sugar , the chilli and herbs. Pour a little of the water kept and shrimp and stir.

Step 4

Pour the pasta and if you need a little more from water boiled. Stir and serve immediately.
