A completely different way to cook the lentils for a Lenten dish or a dish that will integrate the family menu. Although it is said that there is no parthenogenesis in cooking, the concrete is completely improvised and came to my mind, If you want believe, When I fell to sleep. Lentil soup with orange juice and Curry , my beloved and really worth the try.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ Cup lentils
  • 1 large onion grated
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic, entire
  • Juice from 2-3 oranges
  • 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped or a spoonful of dry
  • salt & pepper
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 Cup tomato juice
  • 1 tablespoon Curry
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 5-6 carrots, sliced or as we like

Method

Step 1

Put all ingredients in a large saucepan and add 4 cups water. Stir and bring to a boil.

Step 2

Lower the heat and cook for 30-40 minutes. If necessary add a little hot water still.

Step 3

Serve the food hot, neat, with salad or as we prefer.
